A Pioneer in Accessible Transportation
With hundreds of lift-equipped vans, minibuses and full-size four-door sedans, the Paratransit division is Atlantic Express' second largest and fastest growing division. In fact, our Paratransit division has become regarded as a model for the system. Planned and developed with specialists considering the needs of people with disabilities and the elderly, our Paratransit service provides safe and reliable door-to-door service.
To achieve passenger safety and to satisfy Paratransit contract requirements, Atlantic Express has instituted a comprehensive driver training course. Ongoing workshops encompass defensive driving, passenger sensitivity, First Aid and CPR procedures, passenger assistance techniques and a comprehensive knowledge of the disabilities of each passenger. We have also developed and implements complex and comprehensive reservation, routing and scheduling programs in order to provide our Paratransit services to our clients in accordance with standard rapid response times.
Medicaid Transportation
Atlantic Express provides Medicaid transportation to various institutions that serve people with physical and mental disabilities. Drivers and escorts for this service are specially selected and trained to provide appropriate and necessary assistance to the clients.
HMO Transportation
Aside from Medicaid transportation, we also provide transportation services for managed care and HMO organizations. The same level of quality service and professionalism that paratransit and Medicaid clients receive are afforded to members of these organizations.
