Staten Island, New York, March 2, 1999 - Domenic Gatto, CEO and President of Atlantic Express Transportation Group, Inc. announced today that the company has acquired Winsale, Inc., a major provider of school transportation in Northern New Jersey.

Winsale Inc. is one of the largest school bus operators based in Jersey City and provides service to school districts in the Union, Essex, Hudson and Bergen counties of New Jersey.

Mr. Gatto said, "Winsale's operations will make a perfect fit with our current operations in the Jersey City area where we were recently awarded routes by the Jersey City Public Schools. It will also enhance our ability to expand operations in surrounding counties."

Lilian Salerno, wife of James and also principal of Winsale will continue to be employed by the company.
